RICC workshop (online)

Exploring New Pathways: Reimagining Supply Chains Beyond Growth

The event will be held online.

Date: December 10th, 2025

Time: 08:00 EST / 13:00 GMT / 14:00 CET / 21:00 CST

Duration: 1 hour

This online workshop will explore emerging research opportunities in reimagining supply chains beyond traditional growth paradigms. As discussions around post-growth intensify across economics, sustainability science, and organizational theory, SCM scholars are increasingly called to rethink established assumptions. This event aims to create a dialogue on how post-growth ideas can reshape our research agendas and inspire new theoretical, methodological, and empirical pathways.

To set the stage for our conversations, we begin with a short framing of the current scholarly landscape and the need to consider post-growth orientations in OSCM research.

We will then have three speakers, each offering a concise 5-minute input that highlights a different perspective on post-growth supply chains:

Axel Zehendner on the paradoxes and tensions shaping post-growth supply chain management

Tommaso Calzolari on Post-Growth Circularity, imagining supply chain practices and indicators that support alternative post-growth futures

- Iryna Malacina on adopting a supply network perspective to post-growth principles

Following these inputs, we will transition into an open roundtable discussion to jointly explore new research questions, conceptual approaches, and methodological opportunities for post-growth scholarship in supply chain management.

The overall workshop and final discussion will be moderated by Iryna Malacina.

Once registered, you will receive the event link at the latest one day before the event.
