Venue for IPSERA 2014 Impresses Former President
The 2014 IPSERA organising committee was delighted to welcome the
former president of IPSERA, Prof. Alessandro Ancarani, to South Africa
in late August. Prof. Ancarani assisted with advise on the arrangements and helped the to finalise the conference programme.
The five star conference venue, the Legend Golf and Safari Resort, received a nod of approval from Prof Ancarani as did the plans that the organising committee has made up to now to ensure that IPSERA 2014 is an unforgettable experience for all local and international visitors.
He was pleasantly surprised by the number and diversity of activities families will be able to participate in during the conference. “I would definitely encourage all to make plans to go to South Africa next year”,
he said.
An Unforgetable Venue
Set in the 22,000 hectare malaria-free Entabeni Safari Conservancy in South Africa’s Limpopo Province, the resort features five eco-systems, spectacular scenery and an amazing diversity of wildlife, including the
Big Five.
The Waterberg ('Water Mountain') region in which the resort is located
was the first region in the northern part of South Africa to be named as
a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Bluish in colour the mountain supports
a biome spanning over 15.000 km² and offers breathtaking views of the
valleys below. The area is also a treasure trove of archaeological finds dating to the Stone Age, and nearby are early evolutionary finds related
to the origin of humans.
The IPSERA 2014 organising committee would like to thank Prof.
Ancarani for taking time out from his busy schedule to come and give
us some guidelines and assistance to plan a conference that nobody will
be able to forget!
